Fans Nation Network

I don't know how many of you watch or listen to FCS Fans Nation Network.
Furman has a major advocate that is one of the hosts.
Matthew Fraase. He's an NDSU fan, but he always sticks with the DINS.
He is the only one of the three hosts that picked Furman.

This week's episode that went up last night is titled The Rise of Furman.
It's worth a listen; lots of interesting discussion about the bias against the SoCon when it comes to the playoffs.

They give Furman credit, but as Astro said, there is still obvious bias against the SoCon. I know there has been discussion about this before, but I don't think it changes until the SoCon gets a team to the Semis. Furman will be in a good position to do that if they can win out.

I know the bias limits the SoCon's chances to get good position so it's capable of changing that bias, but I just don't see enough of that thinking nationally for me to expect it to change until we as a conference do something about it. Just my opinion, I know Bear will have a long post pointing out the flaws in that thinking which is ok, because I'll mostly agree with it. I still have my doubts that any of the people who are voting in these polls or selecting playoff fields will change their thinking until they see something on the field.

I just listen to that Furman segment, and they obviously don’t do any research because they never mentioned the rattle or the little people.

The good people here at the Fulton County Courthouse, where FUBeAR is currently imprisoned as a prospective juror, will not let FUBeAR listen to that broadcast yet…but from your post, FUBeAR is assuming they DID mention FUBeAR’s lady-soldier-friends from the IDF.

Hopefully, they focused on the good service the 3 of them provided instead of disparaging them for the TV Broadcast wire-cutting mishap. The fog of battle can lead to mistakes, but it’s how Teams respond to those mistakes that makes all the difference and these lady-warriors responded by doing it all for the Team.

Need to win out and take care of business in Paladin Stadium. I honestly think we play well on the road but not when the temperature is frigid.

In 2006 we were expecting a home playoff game and we lost the game when on the playoff show they said “Furman at Montana State”. We were never in the game and lost 31-13.

And it was very cold. It had snowed the night before and we had to sit with our feet in puddles.

I didn’t like the part where they said Furman does not rank in offense or defense nationally but they just win. Well WCU led the country in offense and didn’t do well against Furman. Seems like this year we score 28 and hold the other team to less. We don’t worry about how many yards they gain.

Also held two highly ranked offenses to their lowest yardage outputs of the year the last 2 weeks.

And they used “Total Defense” for their metric where Furman is #62 instead of “Scoring Defense” where Furman is #30. And quickly eyeballing the 61 Teams ahead of Furman in total yards, he only sees one - Mercer @ #23 - who has faced an SEC opponent.

Take the SEC game out and Furman jumps up about 30 spots to #33 in “Total Defense.”

Same with “Scoring Defense” - except 0 Teams who have faced SEC opponents are ahead of Furman. Take out the SEC opponent and Furman goes to #9 in “Scoring Defense.”

TBH - FUBeAR appreciates these gentlemen taking time to discuss the #3 ranked Paladins, but he heard an overarching condescending tone throughout their discussion. Didn’t like it.

FU has had its 2 best offensive games to date the last 2 weeks. Keep it up!
