We are finally home.....

Come out and be LOUD for the Paladins !!

Bring a friend - invite someone... Our guys deserve to have a homecoming after 6 straight road games. That's ridiculous. Let's get loud and support the Paladins in person tomorrow

Flags + 2 = 4
I hope I can remember how to get to the stadium. In my old age, some things are more easily forgotten.

I was actually impressed somewhat. Announced attendance was 7K. Whatever it was it was more than I thought it would be at 0-3. Decent showing

And 98% of the students left at halftime. And their parents also.

We obviously don't count attendance like we used to. Could we really have taken the peeps on the visitors side, put them on the home side and then had room for 3,000 more? Remember when Family Day was never under 11-12, 000?

Maybe the marching band should announce an encore for the end of the game.
Or maybe the halftime show sucks so bad that people just want to go home after seeing it.

I missed the half-time program, but got a reliable report that it was an outstanding program. Our band is superior in every way. Your comment is ridiculous. We're not doing enough to build school spirit among our students. They'll regret it later in life.

My comment is humor and your response to it is ridiculous.
Furman people just aren't fun anymore and ticket sales are the proof.
Lighten DaFugg up.

I don't remember you out on the field breaking your leg and attracting fans to the games.
So maybe I know a little bit about it.

This has been talked about ad nauseam on this board, and I'm just honestly not sure what else the university and athletic department can do without men's hoops becoming a Butler or Gonzaga or the football team becoming a North Dakota State. It's a sad reality, but I would bet that a majority of students - especially the ones from out of state - had never heard of Furman until they started looking at colleges and chose the university purely for the academics. I bet there's less than a dozen students on campus that grew up going to games at Paladin Stadium and that certainly makes a big difference. Why more don't embrace school spirit once they arrive, I'll never know, but I've stopped banging my head against the wall thinking about it.

Your observations are spot on. When the team builds a tradition of winning, more students will invest in the program. Let’s also keep in mind that non student attendance has dropped by 50%. We can’t expect the students to produce their own excitement at a football game attended by few thousand fans. Winning will help with both problems.
