UConn: Furman (FCS - SC) running backs coach / recruiting coordinator Antonio Wilcox is expected to fill the running backs job, Pete Thamel shares

Hmmm….know he did fairly well up there in year 1…and they are technically, an FBS Team, but FUBeAR is not sure Jim Mora Jr. is someone that he would want to hitch his wagon to…Seeks to have a multi-stop history of doing OK in 1st year or 2…maybe 3, but then fizzling and wearing out his welcome pretty quickly.

Officially official. Wilcox to UConn. Furman will be looking for a new RB coach and recruiting coordinator (could shift within the current staff).

Honestly, congrats to Coach Wilcox. He’s given a ton of his time and energy to Furman, and I appreciate all he’s done here with and without the pads.

Not a great step up or a place that you want to keep moving on up from. The only plus is the FBS label. They haven’t had a winning season since 2010. Broke even this year at 6-6 which included 3 wins vs. low FCS teams and UMass. Even with the 6 wins this season they have only average 2+ wins the last 6 seasons. 6-6 is prolly their high water mark.

It’s a move up to FBS, and more money. Maybe he has a connection there, most likely will make more connections. It’s his career move. Congrats.
