Anything is possible. Both good teams. Sammy has a really good pass offense.

Mercer may very well need to win to make the playoffs but it is at Samford but that really shouldn’t matter as they will be lucky to get 5k,

Samford beat Furman, Furman beat Chattanooga, Chattanooga beat Mercer. The transitive property has ruled in the SoCon at the top of the league this season.
I hope Mercer beats Samford so the Paladins have a chance for a co-championship but I don't expect it.

Possible but I would put less than 50% for sure. Despite the randomness that is within football the fact is Samford has found a way to win and proved something to me today by beating a physical Chatt. Also they won’t be trapped looking ahead as they have a chance to go undefeated !! Not a common thing in SoCon

I don’t think Mercer is as physical as Chatt

I bet odds of anyone going undefeated in conference would have been very low pre-season.

Samford's a good football team. They've earned their spot to this point.

Chris Hatcher hit the transfer portal hard to rebuild the team and save his job. It's worked out for him this season.

I'd love another crack at them.

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Right now, the only thing that matters is beating Wofford. Go Dins!

at the beginning of the year i saw some predictions here that furman would have a season of 9-2.with clemson on the schedule certainly 1 loss was likely and with a tough socon schedule i thought that was a bit optimistic.now only wofford stands between us and that record.no time for a letdown.i remember after the clemson game in dabo's press conference he mentioned "i think clay has himself a team.i'll be interested to see how they finish.
so let's go guys.see if we can make dabo proud.lol.beat wofford and enter the playoffs with good momentum.

ESPN+ announcer told us yesterday during the game what we pretty much already knew: 33 incoming transfers this year for Samford. 4 of 5 members of their starting defensive backfield (2 corners and 3 safeties) are transfers. :!:

I suppose the silver lining is that Samford all but has to extend Coach Hatcher. So, a longer tenure of one of the league's most under-producing coaches is a boon to us all.

I think Mercer wins this weekend. They have everything to play for and have the talent to win.

It will take a truly exceptional job of Coaching by Coach Cronic & Staff, near-perfect execution by the Bears, favorable (or at least acceptable) officiating, and some amount of good fortune for Mercer to beat Samford this week.

That said…all those things could happen.
