Even though disappointed n yesterday’s attendance it did turn out to be the highest so far this year. With the efforts of JD and staff we have seen a huge uptick in attendance since 2019. In 2019, a playoff year we averaged only 6,535. This year we are averaing 9,528 just under last year’s average of 9,577. In 2021 we were averaging 10.3k until the meanigless last game against VMI brought the average way down. Have a chance to at least beat last year’s average with a good attendance for the WC game. This year’s average has had virtually no help from visiting SoCon teams. Sammy sold 20 tickets, UTC may have sold 40. WCU was a little better. Looks like we have plateaued with JD’s plan so we need another push. My suggestion would be to offer visitor side tickets for $5 or $10, or even free. Just tired of looking at empty seats over there. Would still make money on parking and concessions. Beats getting nothing. Still charge the visiting teams full price but we need to get more local peeps in the stands. Still hate all the no shows we have. Below is a recap of the last 3 seasons minus thev2020 spring one.

Have to agree with your disappointment Mr. Apaladin, for the population of Greenville County, Clemson bye week and Furman playing exciting football against a top 10 FCS team it is hard to believe they can't crack 10,000 +. Question i have for you, your attendance figures based on actual attendance or paid attendance? Also, the fanfest is nice but to me there are more individual tailgating going on, which makes a great college football atmosphere. I think a DJ would be a better option than a live band, i personally like when the Furman Marching Band plays at the fanfest. Hoping they beat Mercer and have that big crowd they deserve against Wofford.

NEPA- figures are what were officially released. Not sure but I believe it is paid not actual like most everyone. Look at Miami(Fla) attendance. They announce 45k plud, more 10-15k. Some have said FU needs to schedule around CU but when, where CU plays has no effect on FU attendance evidenced again by Saturday. I saw one person at PS wearing CU gear Saturday. Could have been a couple more but doubt it,

It would certainly help if visiting teams brought more fans. The 04 GSU game was the last time those stands were full. I think people say I'll watch the game on espn+.

Furman travels better than any other team in the SoCon.

You have to discount citadel student attendance since they are required to attend.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
