I'm really worried about the ETSU game now.

ETSU might come into this game stronger than ever.

The older guys here know what the following means :

A ETSU player has thrown off the pads!
A defensive player intercepted a pass during one drill and began running the ball out of the end zone. Sanders approached the player and told him not to run with the ball and instead just take a knee in the end zone. The player replied that he would take a knee in an actual game situation.

Sanders then slapped the player's helmet. According to the report, the player became "visibly upset," took off his helmet and pads and left the field while some of his teammates attempted to console him. Sanders said he tried to speak with the player but let him walk away after seeing the player's reaction.

Wow this dude could have never played at our high school. I thought those love taps were just a right of football. We thought Coach liked us and was just getting our attention.
Now I have to depend on my wife to clear my head :D

I'm pretty sure they are playing down the force of that "tap" though.
Other players don't try to "console" you over a tap on the helmet.

Bottom line; if one is not willing to put on some pads and hit WITH the player then one better not hit the player.
The plantation mentality is over with.

Anyone who uses his rank as a means to strike someone without fear of retaliation is nothing but a Russian protest band without the riot.

I like this quote from the article also :
Sanders said he tried to speak with the player but let him walk away after seeing the player's reaction.
"Let".
As if he was could tackle the player and make him stay and listen.

Agree with the rest of your post. Well...I’m unfamiliar with the Russian Protest Band genre, so I can’t comment on that...but...

...not so sure I agree with you here on the consoling thing. Lots of snowflakiness out there these days, sluggo. I’ve seen a good bit of this kind of activity on game sidelines in recent years.

Call it the #CoachAintGonnaYellAtMeToo movement

In our day, if Coaches, particularly the Head Man, exploded on 1 Player, the rest of us were like...

Not so much now.

If I thought yelling at someone could get a better performance out of them, then every female would have left my bedroom with a tympanic rupture.

(just kidding)

Any snowflakes who complain about my above statement (tympanic rupture joke) should put on a helmet and let me slap the helmet's ear hole so they can get a better understanding of what happened out there to get a coach treated like a cop; you know, put on paid leave.

There just might be a culture problem when this list of people are considered snowflakes instead of humans:

Sorry for making a joke, was not thinking of social injustice. I did have coaches slap me on the helmet in High School, never gave it a second thought.

I see no reference to quality tossing of thigh and knee pads during the exit. A thigh pad carrying a toss height of 14 feet or more is a quality indicator of anger. The tosser should not be approached.

I wasn't talking about social justice.

That would require Furman to stop putting players into the hall of fame and crediting them with my accomplishments (1st offensive player ever selected 1st team all SoCon 3 years in school history and most plays in school history).

It's pathetic that I had to actually complain to get that removed from the hall of fame listings.
Nobody even bothered to check the fact before printing it.

Talk about fake news.

LOL!

Pad throws can not be judged fairly, since the standard was set by a discus thrower who lettered in track.
Therefore all pad tosses must count the same.

:D

My appetite for fake news is growing.

Any more fake news about starting QB's?

Fake blocking trophy news pales next to fake QB news because we only hear the blocking news after we've won a game.
