For at least one week, Furman leads the conference in scoring offense and scoring defense. https://static.soconsports.com/custompa ... nfldrs.htm

I don't think you can read a whole lot into Week 1 results, but I am at least a little surprised that ETSU managed only 107 yards rushing on 36 carries against Mars Hill (3.0 ypc). That would have me at least a little concerned if I was a Buc fan.

I think every Furman fan needs to pull for ETSU to beat the Citadel down in Charleston. That will give us a chance of knocking off a top 10 team on the road in two weeks.

VMI up early and dominating Bucknell after 16 minutes of play - 21-0. They were listed as 21.5 points favorites before the game.

I'll go ahead and tell you we can absolutely beat ETSU.

Ideally, we want ETSU to win and keep their lofty ranking. So, next week, we'll go up there and get a top 10 win on the road.

yes we can. though we struggle with good receivers and huzzie is NASTY and Riddell is very good. they have a matchup that is a struggle for us. CItadel just gave the ol' 8 yards cushion by DB (as we do sometimes) and ETSU is driving fast. yep huzzie for the TD. They are going to him and he is just too good for Db in this game

We'll be fine. We had them on the ropes last season and we're better and they're not as good.

After last week, I am stunned that The Citadel beat ETSU.

ETSU won't count as much now - win or lose. Citadel just beat em'. good grief. Now instead of a chance to beat number 8 or whatever it will be over number 17. ETSU gave up two big runs with a minute or two left ... FG win for Citadel.. Damnit. Now ETSU may refocus too. Quarles will have their attention after the loss.

Hope we win. Still probably top 20 easy

Are the FSC poll voters smart enough to know whether a team beats an opponent that might be higher ranked? I just want us to take business into our own hands and not be concerned about the ranking of our opponent. Just win. That is all we need to do.

Agree. Just rather them be top ten than 18th or whatever. Win just looks better then

Wofford looks like they have less than 100 yards of total offense in the 4th quarter against Elon.

Their offense is on the verge of getting shut out for the second straight game.

That’s 12 straight losses for the under porch ankle biters. First consecutive shutouts since 1984.

Wofford had 128 total yards. Their revamped offense was 7-20 passing.

Announced attendance at Gibbs for the home opener was around 2,500.

I'm no Wofford fan, but it's sad to see what has happened to their program under Conklin.
