Furman posted these tonight. There are slight tweaks to the uniforms (which have been in other posts, but I've just not noticed them).

Just comparing them to last spring/season

1. Loses the shoulder stripes.

2. The "tv numbers" move from the top of the shoulder to the side.

3. Piping on pants goes from two lines to one line.

4. "Diamond F" inserted in center

5. Font changed to a san serif font. This new font will match up with the fonts used in the renovations to Paladin Stadium. Hard to tell if the uniform numbers match up with the yard lines.

6. May just be my eyes, but it looks like the purple is darker to match what appears to be a darker purple used in Paladin Stadium.

I know we are a small school and all, but I'd put those uniforms up against just about anyone in college football.

So…FUBeAR is color-blind….Am I wrong though?…I see 3 different shades of purple & 3 different shades of gold in those WCU uni’s. No?

Looks like the numbers on the front are larger and wider.

They may be.

I think the word "Paladin" is a little smaller. You can can compare Hope's jersey last year and see that the word "Paladin" extends further when compared to the "81" than it does on the new version. That may give the illusion that the numbers are bigger. Or, maybe the numbers are a bit bigger. Not sure.

To Mr. Cat > I'm not saying I don't like the WCU look but it's like comparing Apples to Oranges. I had a text chat with someone yesterday about the Furman uniforms and helmet.

Furman other than the drift into the black uniform trend - has kept a consistent simplicity of a FURMAN look, and that is a real strength - related to a team's brand. Never too busy. Just right.

The 2021 uniform is going exactly where I hoped it would. A very clean look that feels like it has some legacy.

I like the clean look as well. I also like the #'s on one side of the helmet. I'm not saying replace the diamond F, just like the look of one side with numbers.

Diamond on the right - player number on the left - would be a very cool look.

I did a little digging on the psychology of uniforms - most of what's out there are related to color.
My totally uneducated take is schools that have a defined traditional look - can have a mental effect - for example; Alabama, Penn St, GaSo, to name a few.

In the end, the performance on the field adds to the mystic of the uniform.

Several SoCon schools have embraced Furman's traditional elements, which I see as a complement.

While different color palates, Mercer, UTC, Samford, and Citadel have all transitioned the last few years to primary looks closely resembling what Furman has done since the 60s (white pants, white lids, color top, all white on the road).
