A tale of two teams as the first four games were Death Dealer Returns. Thereafter, vanilla flat and uninspired. WTH?

Yep the bad Furman team showed up for all the big games. Between that and the dual QB deal and the rain deal we have a lot of work to do.

We have to pick a QB. We have to get more physical and tough on defense. Some said we were “nasty” on D, and that’s not true. We have to get more speed, and we have to develop better play at WR, especially with Gordon graduating. We have a lot to work on, and I for one won’t get fooled by big wins over conference foes next year. The league is weak. Probably the fourth weakest in FCS behind Pioneer, Northeast and Big South. It might be a one bid league, no joke. The program has life, but still a long way to go to compete nationally and I’m hoping the purple-tinted glasses folks can admit it.

THIS. Next year I am sure some will try to sell us on how we beat VMI by 30..

Just like how we have learned from a few years how the playoff committee goes by polls we should now have the experience to know going 6-2 in SoCon isn't a sign that we are truly great. It's just a weaker conference right now. It is. Better to win than lose but winning in the SoCon doesn't prove a ton right now.

I see WOff is also struggling with a KSU team that Monmouth blew out.. hmm

It was a promising season that went sour. We were falsely led to believe this team could be special. Obviously it is not and average at best on a good day. When you lose to both the Citadel and WC and neither were even close, then get completely embarrassed in the playoffs, the season can't be called a success. I hope Luke Shiiflett gets a long hard look in spring practice if he is healthy and Jack Hardin also. We could use DG at WR.

Just as a speed note I watch our games and Grainger can almost always outrun the SoCon Defenses when he has a gap.. Austin Peay was able to catch him. They have speed on D we aren't seeing in the SoCon on a consistent basis
