Transfers of note eligible in 2019 --

- Woff got an App State QB.. be interesting to see how that plays out
- Furman has Shiflett as we know he went to Middle Tennessee State to play QB but they played him at WR his entire Freshman season (so must be athletic if he played at MTSU as true FR).. so he transferred in to FU this summer to try to be our QB
- ETSU got TWO daggum QBs. One a Miami of Florida guy w several years left (!) who played a little. He has to have big talent for Miami to recruit him. The other guy has one year left and transferred in from Coastal Carolina
- CItadel had a great FCS RB transfer in and a decent FCS LB come in
- Samford has a New QB - Oladokun who "transferred to Samford from South Florida and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. He started three games for the USF Bulls last season, and played in six. Dual threat?? - not sure on that. Three-star recruit according out of high school. He received scholarship offers from: Nebraska, Temple, Iowa State, Bowling Green, Georgia Southern, South Alabama and Toledo so he has talent !
- UTC just got a RB transfer I think?

others?

OK...Yes, football is much different in terms of transfers than basketball...In hoops, there is not quite as much talent at one position...In football, especially at quarterback, there is as much or more talent at an FBS school.

Agree that football transfers are much more valuable from FBS to FCS - example: one Martin, Ingle !

Interestingly, basketball seems to be going the way of "if I look to be great I may leave my smaller school and transfer to play at a bigger basketball program".. altering the landscape of college basketball

But with football the FBS to FCS transfers CAN be big. Not all of 'em.. Some never pan out at FBS or when they transfer to FCS but many do make a difference. Ingle Martin, Randy Moss (!!!) - though he was a different case for sure w his issues at Notre Dame and FSU... I am sure there are many others

I am glad Shiflett transferred in ! And I always welcome transfers of great talent as long as they fit the program.. like Air Force Academy-types which we have some
