CCH has been asked to take on a Herculean task in the NIL age. Some of you guys would be SHOCKED to hear how much Evan James makes now, or to hear how much other players were offered to leave. College football is BIG business.

CCH and coaching staff are quite talented. I am not a fan of placing blame but our OL is struggling. We recruited the best we could get to commit and thank heavens for our grad transfer there but he is not enough. Yes recruiting and retention fall under CCHs oversight BUT you all have no idea how difficult it is to manage when you’ve courted a talented OL for 12 months prior to signing day, paid for a wonderful OV for him and his parents, pulled out all the stops, then he backs out morning of signing day because a bigger school came long with their checkbook.

It’s an extremely difficult situation. Money would help, and while FUHoopla may disagree, it takes a lot of liquid capital when you are looking at a two deep of 44 players+ compared to basketball’s 10 player two deep.

That being said, I’ll say this again and again. FU football is a gem. These are good men coaching these kids. 4 of these games were winnable and decided on a dime. If luck had been on the Paladins side, the record looks very different.

I sincerely hope that FU brings on a new president that is passionate about football and supporting the program and helping it grow and flourish.

Also, Ackerly left with an injury (I understand it to be shoulder?), Garcia didn’t practice and clearly wasn’t ready, and we popped a true freshman out and asked him to win us the game. That’s tough.

Our defense is best in SoCon. LBs are playing quite well and DL looks just fantastic and I’m told several defensive players not on 2 deep are quite talented and will be ready to carry the torch. New DC has done a good job. I was a Vaughn fan and know he has a goal of HC. Will be interesting to see what happens, but had to throw in my 2 cents.

Its all relative, Basketball players make more from NIL per player so the fact you have 44 players compared to 10 on a two deep does not matter. Just look at NBA salaries compared to NFL and scale it to college NIL, its not close.
FU Basketball also lost Wilkins and Bowser for alot more money than any of the players that leave FU football will get.
The first step for the program is to stop making excuses and pointing fingers, go out there and find the dang solutions!
