Interesting offer here. 6’4” QB who threw and ran for about 1000 yards each. List himself as an athlete. Offers from middle Tennessee, WCU, and the Citadel. Very different offenses so imagine he’s being recruited for several different positions. I’m wondering if most are looking at him as a WR? (The players they post are usually an indicator of what they are being recruited as with these athletes - Harris and Miller in his offer tweet) He’s definitely got some speed.

Looks like another offer to a TE.

It certainly looks like Roper has a plan and it involves TE’s. Can’t wait to see what he does with the mix of players he wants. He’s doing pretty damn good with what he inherited.

I'm guessing here.

We've seen Roper utilize two TE sets a bunch this season. That's been a position basically locked down by Ryan Miller for 3 or 4 years now. Gissinger was a critical add through the transfer portal.

Miller is not really a traditional tight end. We all know that. He's sort of a hybrid slot receiver. It looks like these offers are to guys that are more traditional tight end types.

My thought is next year Ryan Miller's role may got more of a traditional slot receiver (Ben Ferguson seems like a likely candidate) while Furman focuses on Gissinger and a more traditional TE rotation.

Figured this one was coming after he decommitted immediately after getting an FU offer. Was a Holy Cross commit at one time:

Once we get the Milton worked out of him, he’ll prolly be a great Player.

Updated Commitment List as of 11/25

1. Caldwell Bussey DE 6-3 245, Spain Park AL
2. David Alabi DE 6-2 240, Pickerington North OH
3. AK Burrell DB 6-0 190, Dutchtown, LA
4. Raleigh Herbert ILB 6-2 225, West Forsyth, GA
5. Ryan Earl OLB 6-2 225, Sharpsburg. GA
6. Brody Balliew OL 6-5 275, Calhoun, GA
7. Brock Chappell TE/LS/OT 6-5 245, Holly Springs, NC
8. Brennan Tormey TE 6-7 220, Montgomery, AL
9. Colton Hinton SLOT 5-11 175, Ashburn, VA
10. Braden Holmes DB 6-0 180, Milton, GA
11. Nehuel Garcia QB 6-3 190, LaMirada, CA

Furman has a ton of offensive linemen offers still out there; my guess is we sign 4-5.
Furman has several defensive linemen offers out there; I'd expect Furman to sign two.
Based on offers, Furman is looking for a bigger wide receiver; we could sign 1-2.
Furman has two excellent linebackers committed, and the DINS appear to be still offering and looking; I'm guessing we could sign 1 more for SPUR.

This kid had a post up of his workouts with him running receiver routes, so I assume he's targeted at WR.

i imagine football recruiting has gotten significantly more difficult with the covid year exemption and the portal rule changes.i see we have eleven committments so far,but how many will we lose from our current roster?very difficult to predict.once we get through the last of the covid extra year athletes it will ease a bit.but do you hold open a few spots for incoming transfers,or to replace unanticapated transfers out?
guess you just do the best you can.
