I really don't think you can look at Sammy's first 2 games that are a month old and think they haven't improved any since then. Remember last year we were 0-3 and were a much better team in week 6. I think Sammy is a much better team now than they were at the start of the season.
Right
But also for the second half and 4 OT's last Saturday they were living on life support, so its not like they have become world beaters

I would say Samford sort of has our # having beaten us 6 of 8 and 3 in a row. Time to change that.
We had them in a good spot last year - two score lead in the third quarter and had just picked off Hodges. Had a chance to perhaps put the game away, fumbled away a touchdown, and then Samford scored quickly again.

It's another put up or shut up game for Furman. If you believe you are who you think you are, you gotta go on the road and beat good teams.

Samford has won 16 of their last 18 at home and apparently their QB Welch was the offensive POW for the SoCon. I expect us to have a real battle and would be very happy with a 1 point win and no injuries.

Here's an interesting statistical nugget....Samford has played Youngstown St, Tenn Tech, Wofford, Alabama A&M and Citadel.

In those 5 games they've surrendered a SoCon worst 264 yards/game rushing and 4.2 ypc.

They've given up big ground yardage to YSU (277 and 4.5), TT (246 and 5.0) and BamaAM (259 and 5.5)

BUT....they only gave up 284 and 4.4 to Wofford (vs 344 avg) and 266 and 2.8 to Citadel (on 95 rushes!!)

Looks like when they want to stop or control the run, they can. Assuming they take the same tact against us, our passing game will need to be clicking....

they have improved greatly in the past few weeks for sure in both run stop and offense - had we played them game 1 I am sure we win. now I think it is a coin flip

Seems like most of their trouble was against more balanced offenses really, which we can be

Hope Kearse is available this week. He has been starter in some weeks .. really help w him and Weems vs a Samford type
How does this benefit Furman? ESPN? ABC? Besides, it’s the only game that matters this week.
How does having our player Kearse benefit us? I am not sure I understand your question flagman - we obviously want Kearse AND Weems and Trapp and Balckshear all available vs a throwing team. ESPN / ABC? where did I mention TV? I am confused by your question... I was saying we hope our player D Kearse (a CB) is OK and can play this week vs a passing team

Please help me understand your question where you reference TV / ESPN ? Not arguing, I just don't understand your quoting of my statement about wanting D Kearse to be available at Corner.. and the relevance of that to ESPN or ABC?
I think he meant to quote the post after yours about the AGS poll.

I have said this before but this is the only team CH has not beaten in just being here 3 years. Which is awesome. He already has a winning record against every SoCon team except Woff and Samford

Paladins by 30.
Ill take a one point win. That said, these guys have owned us.
Look at the great job CH is doing. I think is worth repeating. And the difference of Samford ;)

CH is
3-0 v Mercer.
2-1 vs ETSU.
2-0 vs Western
2-0 vs VMI
2-0 vs Chatt
2-0 vs Cit

---
1-2 vs Wofford bc of playoff loss there. (that's the only other team where Hendrix has a losing record)
0-2 vs Samford
