This Bracket has Furman as a 3 seed and FOUR SoCon teams in the field.

Cool - they need to up their Bracketology Game though - Since 2017 - If a Conference has 4 or more Teams in the Playoffs, the Playoff Selection Committee must ensure they are not all on the same side of the bracket...unless they are all Seeded in such a way that they would all be on the same side. Then the Committee will not change their Seeding in order to 'break up' the bracket. The Committee can 'violate' the '400 mile / no flight' rule to 'balance' the brackets. They only have to move 1 Team to the 'other side.' FUBeAR thinks that includes if they have 5 or 6 - the 'rule' (though FUBeAR cannot find the exact text) is they can't "ALL" be on one side....so 4 and 1 would be OK...FUBeAR thinks.

Anyway - from their keyboards to the Football Gods screens...but they need to work on their bracket a bit.

I don’t think there’s anyway SoCon gets four teams, but it’s a fun experiment.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
