So we lost our only QB offer to WCU? Not good.
I realize you try to find the negative in the situation, but there are literally dozens of reasons why a player may select another school.

Furman didn't recruit him to play QB, as this article notes (https://www.theitem.com/stories/lakewoo ... ina,319936)

So, the kid wants to play QB, Furman didn't want him to play QB, and he chose a school that will allow him to play the position he wants.

And again, it is pretty clear that unless Ingle Martin falls in their lap, Furman isn't looking to use a scholarship on a QB in this class.

That is a deviation from what we've done in the past, but the rationale makes sense.

Ran across this name in Coach Bratton's likes. Christian Helms, 6-1 185 WR/SS, from Seffner Christian, FL, announced via twitter that he has narrowed his list to three schools, S. Florida, Morehead St, and Furman.

Kind of an unusual list of three finalists. Not sure I've ever seen a recruit choosing between an FBS team and a Pioneer team (non-scholarship) that plays in what amounts to a glorified high school stadium.

Might not all be the same type of offer.

Morehead can't even offer an athletic scholarship and USF is likely a PWO.

Jack Murrah, QB at Ponte Vedra H.S. south of Jacksonville, FL, has a PWO offer.

With Ellis gone and Veneziale off to Georgia State (boo hiss) .. it's obvious the coaches are trying to get another LB. so my favorite final get would be Slay or Agbenou. Would love to see one of those.

Interesting. Of course he would have to sit a year unless he goes down to D2.

Greener grass and all that. Apparently wants to play QB.

As a redshirt freshman, I’m not sure we’d take on a third QB in the same class. Also don’t know if his derecruitment would have burned a bridge. That said, we’ve liked him before.

Mann knew what he was doing when he de-committed from a QB offer from Furman to take an offer from the mighty JMU to convert to safety. Furman appears to be super focused on a QB in the 2020 class. I think an offer to play for Furman left when he de-committed.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
