FUBeAR just figured it all out.
All we need is…
5 5-Star OLmen that we pay 7 figures each,
an OL Coach that we pay near 7 figures,
an OC that we pay $1.5 million, and,
a Head Coach that we pay $15 million.
THEN…we can be just as good as Georgia!!!
You can thank FUBeAR later, but if you wanna drop that $23 million to get us started in ‘25, just slide right on into FUBeAR’s DM’s.
$23 million to get us started back up to prominence in ‘25?
Could we negotiate that downward a good amount, since we are just trying to return to competitiveness against the level of Mercer and Chattanooga and Incarnate Word (for example), not necessarily to get to the level of even a Duke or a Vanderbilt or a Georgia Tech and definitely not to the level of an Ole Miss or a Georgia?
Then again, I realize we would have a difficulty acquiring $2,300,000.00 to work with.
While the principal message of FUBeAR’s post seems to have eluded you as yet (perhaps watching the embedded video will provide some guidance), FUBeAR will clarify that he did NOT intend for his actual message to be that additional fundraising is the key for Furman Football to put this one-season anomaly behind us and return to our long-established standard level of competitiveness at the top echelons of both Southern Conference and FCS Football.
While additional funding is always more than welcome, Furman Football did not win 15 SoCon Football Championships, qualify for 20 NCAA Division 1 Football Playoffs, win 21 NCAA Division 1 Playoff Football games, compete in 3 NCAA Division 1 National Championship Football Finals, and win an NCAA Division 1 Football National Championship because we outspent many, if any, of our competitors.
We achieve by having better Coaches than our competitors and having Players who execute / play better than our competitors’ Players play. Furman’s Football Players will play / execute better next season and Furman’s Football Coaches will ensure that they do that, and will, remarkably, be better Coaches when Players are playing / executing better. It’s funny how that works. Reliance on having better players than our competitors has rarely, if ever, worked for Furman Football. It’s quite possibly even a fool’s errand in the Portal/NIL era. We, obviously, want the best Players we can get who can succeed at Furman, but Players playing better is THE Furman (Football) Advantage (catchy, huh?). We haven’t had that this 1 season.
Georgia’s $23 million Offensive Line won’t have all 5 Players get smoked on every play and Furman Football will quickly recover from this 1 anomalous season…
…no matter how many shiity shiiteposts shiiteposters post to the contrary.
