This was a winnable game. This has been a difficult year from the start but in all honesty some of the coaching especially on O is certainly not the level of last year and is getting worse game to game .If someone has an explanation on our game plan I would love to hear it. Neither of our QBs is particularly mobile and this really limits our scheme, but these are the guys they recruited. I still think our FR is going to be really good but we are going to have to put in an O that plays to his ability.
I think you answered your own question. I don’t think Roper trusts either guy to run his offense. And without any semblance of a running game and defenders in the backfield before the QB gets the snap…

Montana seems like decades ago.

GET A MOBILE QB. we punted once because our QB ran out one yard short of the first down leaving us with 4th and 1

2 solutions. Have a running game you trust to get a yard on fourth down

Have a more mobile/fdter QB who can scamper to get that first down

I have NEVER seen such a play-not-to-lose game from Furman on offense. Prior to half we didn’t try for a TD. I think we had a time out!!! We just ran. Kicked FG. went to locker room. Some other thing was likewise. Then Later had a 4th and 1 at midfield and just punted. Knowing it was 4th Q and not many possessions were left. And it did turn out that 4th and 1 we could have tried in the middle of 4th quarter was a far better chance than our one minute drive at end.

Very few posts here after the game. I get the feeling people have just given up on this year. I’m mad but I still support them

Glad to see Luke Clark play today

... seems like decades ago. Actually it was ONLY 48 weeks ago. Actually it was ONLY 10 games ago.
2 wins in 48 weeks is bad.
2 wins in 10 games consecutive is bad.
3 wins in our last 10 games against Wofford is bad.
We have to get out of this dark tunnel.

Very few posts because there is nothing to say that hasn’t been said before. You support your team by going to games in person when you can. Posting or not posting on a message board has nothing to do with supporting your team!

Question 1: (Lost to 1 win CSU and 1 win VMI)
Are we the worst FCS scholarship team in the country this season?

Question 2: (I see Samford got a beatdown by terrible Tennessee Tech today)
What are the 3 most impressive SoCon OOC wins to make a potential 8-4 UTC and potential 8-4 ETSU worthy of getting into the playoffs?
1 No
2 WGAS

Wow you're so convincing
And you are an ass wipe

ETSU will finish 8-4 6-2 as they only have the 2 worst teams left(FU, VMI). UTC will finish 6-2(Sam left) and either 8-4 or 7-5. UTC beat ETSU. I suspect only one SoCon bid.

This was the most disgusting coaching performance I’ve seen in a long time! The players didn’t lose this game the HC and offensive coaches did. Putting up with poor and slow snaps on nearly half of the plays without making an adjustment. Allowing it to happen game after game. Horrendous play calling right down to the last play. All the respect I had for these coaches coming into the season has evaporated . Look in the mirror and tell yourself to do better for these kids!
No argument here. The short yardage calls were bad along with others, but my favorite bad call of the day was: So WC had a wide open receiver 5 yds deep in the ebd zone and the WC qb way underthrows it to FU at the 5 and we return it to midfield. We are in business still 7-7. First play we try a double reverse. 1. We don’t have the speed for such a play and 2. We don’t have the OL to allow such a play to develop. Never had a chance. Drive over on first down.

Sure. but there IS something new that hasn’t been posted. I stated - ironically in this very post - that I was glad to see Luke Clark on the field today! And I was. Glad he gets to play a little more in his Senior year. That is both positive and had NOT been said before !

I think players do appreciate seeing someone say they were glad and noticed they were back healthy ! I would. Means people noticed you and appreciated your effort

44 had a big time tackle to give us a chance there late in the 4th. I was also glad to see him back.

Man, that exchange between Choir Boy and FU Hoopla was great. I'm going to side with Choir Boy on this one... not because of any facts mind you - just because I've always admired Choir Boy's style, and FU Hoopla has spoken ill, I think or recall, of our Paladins in the past. I do not approve of heresy.

YET, we're wasting time fighting amongst ourselves. We need to rally together because we've got those bastages from ETSU to beat in six days. I don't think they're going to be the pushovers that some of others opponents have been.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
