Hope he’s not poached by one of our conference brethren. Last COY at LRU soon ended up at citadel.
And quickly dominated the league at a program that hadn't done that in 25 years probably.

He very likely will be.
If the bellhops lost to WCU, Samford, and ChasSouthern (future), I bet his phone woulda been ringing with a call from the Lowcountry come Dec.

I think the only reason you leave an OC position at Furman and move to D2 as a head coach is that you want to be the next phone call for an FCS head coach gig.

The last two LR head coaches moved directly to FCS head gigs.

In the SoCon, you would have to think Mark Speir's seat at WCU is pretty warm. Cronic has won everywhere he's gone.

Speir’s contract runs thru 2020...and they can’t even figure out how to get a new chancellor (or whatever...poo-bah, maybe) to run WCU. The prior one, an FU grad, passed away in June of 2018 of brain cancer...so they had started the Search in March of 2018...and they HOPE to have someone in place by next Fall (a Search taking that long is CRIMINAL...no excuses!) They have much bigger fish to burn than Mark Speir. He’s good. Some assistants may be asked to find alternate employment, I would imagine.
