Few observations.

Brian VanGorder's son transferred to UTC.

Samford's transfer numbers are ridiculous.

So are VMIs, just the opposite direction. At least VMI sort of has a reason.

Yeah - in non-NCAA-granted-free-Covid-year times, these VMI “Transfers Out” (most of them; maybe all) would have been classified as “Sr’s lost to graduation”

Since Samford’s Coach Hatcher has been unable to finagle his way into the Mercer HC job, in his hometown, to produce video game numbers offenses and .500 records for another 5 years, he’s Coaching for a contract extension in the final year of his contract. Kind of ‘burn the ships’ approach there right now, FUBeAR would surmise.

FUBeAR wishes Coach VanGorder’s son to attain the same level of success, in terms of winning games, as his Dad enjoyed as a Head Coach in the SoCon…maybe a couple less.

Dean's an interesting player. https://jmusports.com/sports/football/r ... dean/17192

He missed 2021 due to injury. High school sprinter. Listed at 6'1. Freshman All American at James Madison during their 14-1 2017 season. Looks like he'll be a 6th year senior (Class of 2016).

Furman's WR coach would have formerly coached this kid at James Madison.

For Furman, this looks like a solid fit. We've recruited a lot of talented wideouts the past two season, but there's not a ton of experience at that position, especially as we likely move to more 3-4 WR looks.

Dean's got size, playmaking ability, and experience. Adding another capable big body at WR is a good move for Furman.

Love both of these additions, depth always helps, both of these guys have experience and can compete for starter roles to be honest
The OL guy has great size for us at 6'5 313

Just hoping we can consistently get the ball to receivers this year, IMHO the key to the season,

Hope we can also improve on short yardage situations.
yes, we need to get back to feeling we can get a yard with good OL and big RB.. we lost some of that recently and that is a killer. Had instances recently where we had two or 3(!) shots at a yard and couldn't get it. that is not gonna produce wins
