I have to admit that I was happy I didn't have to cover a game onsite today. All fall I've been up all night on Fridays on high school games, and going to Furman or PC (LaurensCountySiports.com) games after a few hours' sleep.
Today I wrote about the Paladins from TV and monitored the Bafflin' Blue Hose via live online stats. I'd just check every now and then and see how many times the St. Thomas points had multiplied.
I was pleased with the Paladins today. Jace Wilson looked resourceful, free and maturing. Dominic Roberto looked like an FCS Jim Brown on occasion.
It was interesting how it seems as if the balance of power started to shift in the waning weeks. Furman, The Citadel and Western Carolina got better. VMI and Chattanooga sagged. The truth is that the SoCon lacks the powers of yesteryear but the competition top to bottom is stiff. Some national powers are about to bolt to FBS or whatever it's called this week. The SoCon may rise again.
Of course, I'm just kind of generally optimistic based on the past two weeks. -- MD

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
