A shout out to all the seniors that were introduced yesterday. Thank you. We have 12 seniors but introduced 18 so 6 are not coming back next year. The most notable non-returner is Bo Layton. Didn't realize how hard a hit the defense takes next year. We lose 4 really good DB's-Weems, Trapp, Willis and Okeh plus Perryman at LB and Tibbs and Auer on the DL.

I believe you meant Bo Layton - he has I assume decided to go to Med School.

It was great to honor so many seniors yesterday. And several of them have been cornerstones in getting this program turned around. I wish them the best for the rest of the season and beyond.

For those of us not there, can someone list the guys honored so we know which ones appear to be graduating early and not coming back?

I was just about to post this. I'm interested as well.

Don't want to single one guy out in a thread about all the seniors, but I haven't seen anyone mention this yet.

Thomas Gordon is now number 2 in career receiving yards. I believe he is only 30 yards behind number 1 after this past week, so there is a pretty good chance he will become Furman's career receiving yards leader this weekend. Depending on how the next 2 weeks (and hopefully several playoff games) go, he might be able to get to number 2 on the receptions list as well. From what I can see, I think he's only missed 2 games due to injury in all 4 years. Capable of breaking one at any moment and willing to go make the tough catch. He's been an incredibly consistent and special player for Furman since the start!

Great class - particularly the O line. Consider that Coleman and Conrad were both starters who left. Wondering why isn't Donavan Perryman on this list? Wasn't he a late signee in the class of 2016? Great player for FU - 3 year starter and team captain this year - graduating senior.

Great job by SID etc.

The game notes for this week seem updated with who is leaving as a R-JR because they (Bo Layton, Avery Armstrong etc.) are all just simply listed as Seniors now. IE, Avery Armstorng is not listed as a redshirt-Junior anymore as he was a week or two ago. The guys who are staying (Atkins, Vann? etc) seem to all be updated both on Two Deep and Roster (in game notes) as R-Juniors etc. Great job updating the roster that quickly with who is leaving and who is staying etc. Very professional !

I've tried doing some research, but I'm still a bit unclear on how the grad transfer thing works. It seems a student-athlete has to either have graduated or met the requirements to graduate before they officially enroll at another school as a grad transfer, but I don't know exactly when it's allowed for them to declare that they are looking. Could a football player announce the day after their season ends that they are graduating in May and opening their recruitment back up? Or do they have to wait until they graduate or meet the requirements to graduate before declaring they can be recruited again?

Depending on the answer to that question will help us know when we might know about any players that are taking that route.
