Several P5 teams declined invitations to NIT. I counted 11 P5 teams that accepted. They took 2 Ivy’s and other teams from non P5 teams including at least one with a losing record. The CIT and CBI really struggled to find teams taking several with losing records. The worst 2 I saw were Alabama A&M 11-21 and PC 14-18. I didn’t look at them all.

So it was 17 teams that declined invites to the NIT. Maybe they should rethink their decision to not include conference championsif they don’t win their tourney.

I'm glad no one is suggesting we throw our hat into that ring.
