A Sixth Season?

I'm happy for Gurley. He's returned to starting, recently.

But this article references his "four" seasons with Furman, and I figure he's using his additional year of eligibility to play this year. So where does he get another year of eligibility?

I hope we get a chance to play 'bama with Gurley still on the team. That'd be juicy.

Yes, players can have a redshirt year and a covid year. Gurley used his redshirt year (first year at Furman) for this season and can use his covid extra year for next season.

Indeed. Despite the article, I looked back at prior FU rosters and see Gurley listed as a Freshman for 2018-19. He got his degree in three years, leaving him with two years' eligibility.

Gurley redshirted his first year at Furman, the 2017-2018 season. He was at Furman four years. https://furmanpaladins.com/sports/mens- ... urley/4436

Thanks. I see it, now: "2017-18: Redshirted and did not see action as a freshman." What throws me is this bio lists his Class as "Junior" despite that having been his fourth year at FU. Obviously that referred to his playing status, not his academic status.
