“The 2021 Major League Soccer season on ABC and ESPN networks had delivered an average audience of 384,000 viewers (P2+) through 18 matches, a 50 percent increase compared to the 2020 regular-season average (257,000).”
ESPN has the same kind of problems as Netflix .An industry leader paying tons for content in a hyper competitive market. Soccer draws pretty well for a relatively small payment, doubt getting it on the cheap will last.
384,000 translates into no one is watching.
