The private schools are not listed. 6 SoCon schools are public and therefore are on the list. The 4 private SoCon schools (Furman, Wofford, Mercer, and Samford) are not on the list.
"Texas Generated $219,402,579 in Revenue During 2017-18
USA Today on Monday published its annual listing of athletic department revenues and expenses for 2017-18.
Texas tops the list as the Longhorns generated $219,402,579 in revenue while its expenses topped out at $206,554,432.
Rival Texas A&M is second on this year’s list, generating $212,399,426 but the Aggies expenses only totaled $165,782,418.
Ohio State was the third and final program to generate more than $200 million in revenue as the Buckeyes closed FY 17-18 with $205,556,663 in revenue, Michigan was fourth generating $195,769,104 and Alabama closed out the top five with $177,481,937 in revenue. "

You can find athletic revenue on the private schools IRS Form 990.

For example in 2017 Furman generated $3,747,403 (2018 return not posted yet)
In 2018 Wofford generated $1,912,893
Not sure the 990 actually presents the same data as this USA Today report does. The USA Today report is 2017-2018. The lowest revenue of all the 230 schools in the list is Coppin State at $3.652 million. But what really makes me think that different data sets are being compared is that schools like Winthrop and USC Upstate and UNCA and SC State show much higher figures ($8.8 million and $9 million and $13.5 million and $5 million) for example) than you mention for Wofford and Furman. Even if the numbers you cite are 2016-17, these numbers from USA Today are 2017-18, and that 1 year difference should not be much for any of these schools.
(Where can you go to find the 990s, by the way?)

I just googled “Furman form 990”

The 990 #s are probably apples to apples but don’t know where USA Today gets their data
USAToday methodology supposedly is at bottom, but I’ve not yet looked at that methodology.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
